Seated Figure, a Design for "The Muses"

Ref: 2205

Grey/black wash over pen and ink, 46 by 29 cm

Provenance: the artist's estate; Liss Fine Art

"The Muses" was an idea that Mahoney first explored in the Morley College murals (a scheme that was a collaboration with Eric Ravilious and was sadly destroyed in the Second World War). He tackled the theme again when asked to propose designs for a new mural for the college after the war.
