An original design for a costume for Alexander Korda’s great 1934 film The Scarlett Pimpernel in which Leslie Howard took the role of Sir Percy Blakeney. This was one of Armstrong’s most successful projects as a designer in the years before the War, forming part of an extremely productive partnership between the artist and Korda.
